Up to 25% of each garment’s carbon footprint comes from the way we wash and care for it, according to Fashion Revolution. Nine out of 10 pieces of clothing end up in landfills long before they should, often because over-washing has caused irreparable color fading, shrinkage and misshaping.
We are dedicated to minimizing what goes back into the environment. Our socks are crafted using only the finest quality fabrics, while the silver in our SilverSpun® fiber inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria and assists in killing germs. This means less washes and longer-lasting garments.
Extensive research goes into how we source our fibers. Our Luxe Collection is crafted from buttery soft American-grown cotton that is harvested on local farms. For our Signature Collection, we are partnered with a family-run business that has been transforming textile waste into high quality recycled fibers for over 60 years, and uses no water or chemicals in the process.
Less than 1% of donated or collected clothes are recycled back into clothing, according to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. We strive to do our small part in supporting circular fashion, diverting clothes from being discarded in landfills. Our Signature Collection is created with 88% upcycled material. The legs of our boot socks are knit using a yarn with 100% upcycled fibers.
When you do wash your socks, we want to ensure that no dye chemicals reach your local water supplies. Fabrics with chemical-free dyes also use significantly less water and energy during the production process. So we skipped the nasty chemicals. Pieces from our Luxe Collection are hand-dyed using all natural ingredients, like avocado skins and pits. The recycled fiber used in our Signature Collection is 100% dye-free and derives its unique colors from a color blend process that uses no chemicals or water.
We put a lot of thought into who produces our socks. We partner with a U.S. sock mill to craft all of our collections, while supporting local communities and sustainable manufacturing. We have cultivated a deep relationship with them and have a high level of transparency into where our clothing is made.
